Carrinda

Orange Clouds

The god of light magic, knowledge, and order. They normally appear as a figure wearing a purple shroud with a golden third eye symbol, with flowing robes and a long ivory staff. The patron of arcane scholars and lawful mages. Libraries and Colleges all over Almora pay homage to her as the being that maintains the Weave of Magic in the Pillar. The Church of Carrinda preaches that the very first legend of Carrinda is how they split from Mariella, the god of chaos and destruction, when a primordial god of magic was cut in half during the Divine Culling. Ever since then, the two siblings have been ever in conflict, waging war over magic and the fabric of reality itself.

Divine Authorities

  • Domains: Arcana, Knowledge, Order

  • Oaths: Devotion

  • Pacts: The Seeker

  • Ways: Confessor, Astral Self

Divine Armaments

  • Caelum Lumine Noctis. A Shroud made of stars and the Weave of magic itself, Carrinda wears it obscuring her eyes, so that she can see the future.

  • Omniscience. A Staff made out of the essence of a fallen god of wizards. Now, it serves as a massive source of arcane power for Carrinda and her chosen favorite wizards.

Faiths and Followers of Carrinda

  • Libitina. The secondary god of Libitina, Carrinda has many temples, libraries, and monasteries dedicated to her in Libitina, and even has a sacred forrest in her honor near Melas. Anyone who considers knowledge or magic important, either divine or arcane, has the deepest respect of Carrinda.

  • Diaspora. Carrinda is viewed as a minor god, as much of their role of being a giver of knowledge is taken, and bringing order isn’t too popular or needed of an idea amongst the angry inhabitants of the Diaspora. Mostly, Carrinda is viewed as a minor god of astrology and astronomy, and is viewed as a navigational aid during the night and winter.

  • Refuge. Due to their heavy emphasis on the importance of knowledge and magic, worship of Carrinda is relatively common, and Carrinda is often depicted as an aid and ally of Ozmaldis. Additionally, the aspect of Carrinda as an astronomy aid and navigational patron is also common here.

  • Feyborn City States. Carrinda is a very important god here, due to their position as the deity of light/orderly magic. Additionally, their role as a god of knowledge is also quite important to them, and she has very little competition from Ozmaldis here.

  • Greyscale. Carrinda is depicted as an Amethyst or Astral dragon. However, due to their strong connections to Godric and Libitina, Carrinda is often depicted as an antagonistic figure, someone that hoards knowledge and magic for themselves and away from the other dragons.

  • The Red Isles. Carrinda is depicted as a minor god, often as a tiefling witch. While they have little appeal to the Beastfolk, many tieflings are drawn to Carrinda as an arcane role model of sorts, and view them as an avenue to arcane power they can use against the fiends, though Carrinda has little appeal outside of those circles.

Divine Realm: Mage’s Paradise. An eternal and infinite tower, filled with libraries. Anything a scholarly minded person could ever want to know. It soars up, nearly touching the Firmament, and has several ways to view and enter the Astral plane. A paradise for those who thirst for arcane knowledge, perfectly orderly and organized.

Carrinda’s Court

  • Ursaris. The familiar of Carrinda, a celestial Dire bear. There are many theories about the nature of Ursaris, some say it was a nature spirit, or a former god of bears, or a constellation given life. It is always depicted as the loyal companion and steed of Carrinda.

  • Saint Velestine. Once a Goliath Cleric/Wizard that served under Themris during and after the Divine Culling. Due to her invention of the Warforged, and her status as the High Priestess of Carrinda, she was loved by Carrinda and Libitina so much she was elevated to sainthood, and now serves at the right hand of Carrinda in the Highest.
