Godric

Orange Clouds

The god of war, heroes, and strength. They appear as a massive, towering figure dressed in full armor, and is recognized by their sword Heaven’s Spine, and their shield, Dominion. The patron of knights and battlements across the continent, though they are held in utmost reverence in Libitina. Originally believed to be a lesser god or demigod of the giants, who survived the Divinity Culling through unknown means. Those that follow Godric attest that it was through their divine strength and battle prowess, though others mutter in hushed tones that Godric was simply not important enough in that era to warrant being attacked in the first place.

Divine Armaments

  • Heaven’s Spine. A celestial broadsword, synonymous with Godric. It’s said to be the most powerful weapon in existence.

  • Dominion. A celestial shield, synonymous with Godric. It’s said to be indestructible, and to be much older than Godric themself.

Faiths and Followers of Godric

  • Libitina. Worshiped as a patron due to being the father of their founder. Many aspects of Libitina revolve around symbols and beliefs of the Godric fate. Treated as the Sky Father/Mother of the Pantheon.

  • Diaspora. As a nomadic civilization, they have little need or context for Godric as a god of warfare, and they are a lesser god, mostly worshiped in their aspect as a deity of unity and strength for the community, acting as a follower of the Couple.

  • Refuge. Due to the war-filled history of Refuge, and it’s closeness to Libitina, Godric is an important divinity to Refuge. Visualized more as a naval commander, and less about defense or protection, and more of a baseless, more aggressive war deity.

  • Feyborn City States. Celebrated as a god of protection and the patron of the citystate walls. Worshiped in a similar role as in Libitina as a knight, though depicted as more as a dex magic fighter, more depictions with light armor, magical supplements etc. However their aspect as a conqueror has been completely removed.

  • Greyscale. Depicted as an Adamantine dragon. However, due to Godric’s closeness with Libitina, Greyscale actually views Godric as a kind of antihero or antagonistic deity, and is not very popular.

  • The Red Isles. The Red Isles are constantly beset by fiends, and as such a god of war, strength, and protection is widely beloved by them, though the knightly depictions have been replaced by powerful Leonin/Minotaur barbarian depictions.

Divine Realm: The Shining Citadel. A massive heavenly city where the followers of Godric go when they die. Many elect to join Godric’s armies of angels in their eternal duty of protecting the pillar, though the Shining Citadel is filled with retired souls as well.

Godric’s Court

  • Themris, Demigod of Labor, Nobility, and Justice (Empyrean). An Empyrean created by Godric, simultaneously the son and avatar of Godric. Founder of Libitina.

  • Archangel Utris (Aurelia from Ravnica). The general of Godric’s heavenly legions, considered to be the most powerful angel in the Highest.
