Ozmaldis

The god the Sky, Knowledge, and Travel. Appears as a gargantuan bird of prey with a myriad of wings. Patron of those who learn through experience, and to those who enforce the boundaries between worlds and planes. Ozmaldis’ followers share a legend of how during the Divine Culling, war spread to even the plane of ideals. A primordial Air Elemental, fearing for its life and the life of its people, tore open a rift to the Material Plane, and fled with its city, now the flying city of Cumulus. As more people fled to Cumulus and began to follow and worship Ozmaldis, the ancient elemental began to gain divinity. Soon, it began to gain domains and followers, and Ozmaldis was born. Other famous myths and legends of Ozmaldis recount its decision to keep the balance of the planes separate, and Ozmaldis crafting its divine armaments.

-
Skyline. A polearm created by Ozmaldis out of pure air elemental energy. Though there are some legends of Ozmaldis using Skyline themself in divine battles, mostly it is a gift bestowed to legendary paladins of Ozmaldis in battles against archfiends or aberrations.
Faiths and Followers of Ozmaldis
-
Libitina. Ozmaldis is not very popular inside Libitina, as Carrinda takes a lot of the followers looking for knowledge or arcane creation. Ozmaldis’ aspect as a watcher and protector has also been largely overshadowed by Godric and Themris’ role as the patron and defenders of Libitina. However, there are some small shrines and temples erected to Ozmaldis on particularly long roads, as their role as the patron of travelers is still important. Depicted as a priest wearing a feathered mantle and bird-like helm.
-
Diaspora. Ozmaldis is one of the most popular gods of the Diaspora, as the god of travel is extremely important to them as a nomadic civilization. Interestingly enough, Ozmaldis retains their Refuge depiction as a colossal multi-winged bird. However, Ozmadin is no longer depicted as an owl dwarf hybrid, or referred to as ‘the Feather beard.’ Ozmadin depictions inside of the Diaspora are actually vanishingly slim, though some depict a halfling or goblin with owl-like features, calling it Ozmadin the Wide Eyed.
-
Refuge. Considered to be the Sky Father/Mother and supreme god of the Pantheon. Almost every single sky ship inside Refuge has some depiction or shrine of Ozmaldis on it somewhere, and nearly every port and town inside of contains a massive temple to them. The Avian races of Refuge view Ozmaldis as a gargantuan, multi winged celestial bird, whereas the dwarves and gnomes also recognize as aspect of Ozmaldis called Ozmadin the Featherbeard, an owl dwarf hybrid representing Ozmaldis’ role as the god of the forge and patron of inventors and creators.
-
Feyborn City States. Worship of Ozmaldis has all but vanished inside the Feyborn City States, as they have little to no travel, the sky isn’t even visible in many of them, and knowledge is considered mostly Carrinda’s domain.
-
Greyscale. Ozmaldis’ depictions remains largely similar to the Diaspora and Refuge, though the bird aspects have been replaced with those of a feathered dragon. Additionally, Ozmaldis has not achieved the same amount of popularity as inside of the Diaspora or Refuge, though Ozmaldis still has a large following.
-
The Red Isles. Ozmaldis is extremely popular in the Red Isles, though their aspects as a god of travel and knowledge have all but been abandoned. Uniquely, mostly only Ozmaldis’ trait of being an extraplanar defender and staunch believer of plane separation seems to have entirely dominated the cultural character of Ozmaldis, with the Red Isles viewing Ozmaldis mostly as a divine punisher and arbiter of divine punishment.
Divine Realm: The Firmament. The sky of the Highest, an endless clear sky full of cloud kingdoms and paradises populated by Ozmaldis’ chosen children and their divine legions of angels. Infinite unblemished freedom and sight over the entire multiverse.
Ozmaldis Court
-
Ozmaldis Ozmadin the Featherbeard. An avatar of Ozmaldis and their aspect as the god of the forge. Ozmadin is widely worshiped inside Refuge as the patron of dwarves and gnomes. Is depicted as a dwarf with owl features, particularly owl eyes and a beard of feathers.
-
Calim (Noble Djinn/Primordial Air Elemental). A primordial air elemental and ruler of all air elementals and genasi. Resides in the realm of ideals, however, they answer to Ozmaldis as the god of the sky (and possible former primordial of greater power.)
